Our Editorial Policy
RemoteJobsOne publishes two kinds of content of its own: guides on finding, applying for and doing remote work, and pay reports built from the listings on the site. This page explains how both are prepared, so you can decide how far to rely on them.
Who prepares the content?
Guides and pay reports are prepared by the RemoteJobsOne editorial team, the same team that runs the job board. Guides are credited to the team rather than to an individual, because each one is maintained by the team as the catalogue changes rather than written once and left alone.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every figure in a guide or pay report — a pay range, a count of listings, how long roles stay open — is counted from the listings live on RemoteJobsOne at the time the page is shown. Pay figures are the rates employers publish on their own postings; we never estimate a salary or fill in a missing one.
- Hourly figures use only listings that publish both ends of their range.
- We report medians rather than averages, so one unusual rate cannot move the figure.
- We do not report a figure drawn from fewer than five listings.
- Hourly and annual pay are kept apart and never converted into each other.
How do we check what we publish?
A statement about what employers ask for is a count of the listings that say it, not an impression. Where a guide names a specific role or rate, it links to the listing so the figure can be checked against the employer’s own posting. Advice that cannot be backed by the listings themselves — how to prepare for an interview, how to work safely as a contractor — is written from employers’ published requirements and widely documented practice, and says so when it is a rule of thumb rather than a measurement.
How often is content updated?
The figures update on their own: listings are refreshed once a day and every page that quotes them reads them again. The written parts of a guide are reviewed when the listings behind them change in a way that matters, and each guide shows the date of its last substantive update.
Is the content independent?
No employer pays to appear in a guide or a pay report, and none can pay to change where a listing appears or how it is described. Pay reports include every listing that meets the rules above, whoever posted it.
How do I report a mistake?
If something on RemoteJobsOne is wrong or out of date, tell us through the contact form. We check every report, correct what is wrong, and update the page’s date when the correction changes what it says.
